Foxes Forest School for home-educated children (Ages 5-7)

The Hive (Suntrap)

Authentic Forest School for home-educated children aged 5 to 7; supporting the EYFS and Key Stage 1 Curriculum.

Forest School is a fantastic way to inspire enthusiasm for exploration, discovery and learning at children’s own pace. Foxes Forest School has a mixture of guided and self-led activities, structure and free choice, all in a stimulating woodland setting. Through hands-on experiences, and the support of the Forest School Leader, children develop key life skills and an applied understanding of many curriculum topics.

A taste of what your child can do at Foxes Forest School:

  • Follow learning trails and scavenger hunts through Epping Forest
  • Investigate the woodland, stream and meadow habitats through the seasons
  • Follow their interests: to experiment, build, and explore from ‘base camp’
  • Expand their creativity with crafts, bushcraft and natural resources
  • Develop problem solving and resilience by devising their own projects
  • Experiment with a range of natural resources and provided equipment
  • Build social skills through play-based activities (e.g. den and dam building)
  • Chat around the campfire with a snack (in winter and spring term)

We’ll also make suggestions to extend learning at home.
