Interactive Gallery and Museum Tours

https://www.ticketsource.com/confidence-to-create

The interactive tours offered in galleries and museums are carefully designed to engage participants in exploring artistic themes and techniques. These experiences are shaped by hands-on activities and meaningful discussions, allowing individuals to connect directly with the art on display.  Each month will be a different theme, with at least two sessions per month for each age group.

Objectives of the Activities
·         Encourage personal responses to the artwork.

·         Delve into the thought processes of the artists.

·         Generate creative responses that reflect the current exhibitions.

·         Inspire participants to continue developing ideas at home.

Session Structure
Each session incorporates a variety of creative activities using materials suitable for the gallery or museum environment. In addition to visual responses, words, poems, and music may be appropriate ways to engage with and reflect upon the displays. Discussion forms a key element of every tour, with participants being invited to converse with each other and with their accompanying adults, should they feel comfortable doing so.

Age Range
On advice from the participants the groups will be split to make it easier for families with multiple children. Groups age ranges include  5 to 9-year-olds, 8 to 12-year-olds, 11 to 16-year-olds, and one for 14 to 18-year-olds. Activities in each session are easily differentiated to range of experience and abilities.

Tour Locations
The tours are hosted at prominent institutions including Tate Modern, Tate Britain, The National Portrait Gallery, The British Museum, as well as other London-based venues.

Safeguarding and Participation
All participants are the responsibility of an accompanying adult. Adults are encouraged to book a ticket and actively participate in each session. Families may also combine their bookings, ensuring there is at least one responsible adult present among them.

Each gallery maintains its own safeguarding policy, which determines the required number of adults and sets a limit on group sizes.

About the Tour Guide: Daniel
Daniel, your art tour guide, has extensive experience in the arts sector since leaving university. He has managed and delivered events, workshops, and talks at large galleries such as Tate Modern, The British Museum, and the Hayward Gallery, as well as smaller independent spaces like Studio Voltaire and Cubitt—both of whose education departments he helped to establish.

Over the years, Daniel has worked with a broad spectrum of groups and individuals. Within formal education, he has collaborated with nursery, primary, and secondary schools, further education colleges, and universities. His involvement with education and arts charities, museums, and galleries has enabled him to lead projects with homeless and ex-homeless individuals, refugees, SEND groups, carers, families, and people from many different backgrounds. Daniel’s experience also extends to working in hospitals, hospices, prisons, community groups, museums, galleries, and public spaces. Since 2020, he has facilitated online sessions, providing access to arts workshops for those unable to attend in person.

Daniel’s own artistic practice has evolved from creating works for galleries to designing instruments that serve as canvases for his artwork. He finds great joy in collaborating with others to help bring their ideas to life, crafting instruments that empower them to express themselves through music and performance.
