Hi, I'm Veronka, a lifelong mathematician—20 years and counting—with a clear mission:
“Breaking the cycle of generational maths trauma.”

Over the long years as an educator, and even before that, I observed that many people (first my peers, then my students) believe, “I’m just no good at maths”—a belief passed down through generations, often subtly and unintentionally, shaped not only by family but also by teachers, friends, and societal attitudes. This widespread “maths trauma” creates a cycle of fear, avoidance, and self-doubt. But real learning begins with healing these old mindsets. That’s why I focus on breaking this cycle to help people experience maths as simple, fun, and truly accessible for the first time.

I believe that “being bad at maths” is a myth. My “Yes, you can” approach has empowered countless students of all ages and abilities—both in Scotland, where I live, and across Britain, Europe, and beyond.

Intrigued by the common perception that “maths is difficult,” I investigated this further and identified two key aspects:

Learning from Examples: I believe the most impactful examples come from those closest to us—family. I continue to help students and support parents seeking confidence in teaching maths at home.

Real-World Connection: As a mathematician and biologist (holding degrees in both!), and a passionate vegan and wildlife advocate, I demonstrate that maths is everywhere in nature and around us.

Through a fun and friendly approach, I show that maths is approachable and practical and opens doors for everyone. I aim to empower individuals to embrace maths for career choices, daily life, and intellectual growth, ultimately proving that “yes, you also can.”

I truly believe everyone can become better at maths. I’m here to help you achieve your maths goals.
