Community Sports Foundation: Empowering Through Sport
Community Sports Foundation is a small, passionate business founded in April 2023. We are dedicated to providing inclusive, high-quality sports and physical activity programs to children and young people who may not have access to mainstream education. Our tailored services cater to:
Home-educated children and EOTAS (Education Other Than a School Setting) students
Individuals facing barriers to traditional schooling
Those experiencing serious anxiety, social/emotional challenges, and SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) conditions
In addition to our work with children, we proudly partner with disabled charities in Worcestershire—such as The Monday Nite Club, The Monday Night Football Team, Worcestershire Ability Counts League, Active Gloucestershire, and We Can Move—to deliver tailored sports coaching for young adults and adults with disabilities and SEND conditions.
Our Holistic Approach to Sport
At Community Sports Foundation, we embrace all aspects of sports, physical activity, and National Curriculum Physical Education. Our sessions are designed to develop physical literacy by focusing on:
Fundamental Skills: Catching, throwing, and kicking
Movement Competencies: Agility, balance, and coordination
We have adopted the #PlayTheirWay philosophy, which gives children a voice and choice throughout their sports journey. This approach is rooted in the United Nations Convention on Children’s Rights, supporting:
Article 3: Best interests of the child
Article 12: Respect for the child’s views
Article 31: Right to rest, leisure, play, and culture
We know that sports and physical activity are especially beneficial for neurodiverse children and those with SEND conditions—teaching resilience, confidence, teamwork, and self-expression. For home educators, we offer multi-sport sessions that cover a broad spectrum of activities—all without the need for advanced booking. Simply come along, observe a session, and experience the difference for yourself.

What to Expect in Our Sessions
Parents often ask, “What kind of sports do you coach?” or “What do your sessions look like?” Our approach is rooted in game-based learning, offering:
Dynamic Games & Activities: Enjoy tag-based and ball games such as Foxes and Hounds or Rob the Nest—inspired by tag rugby and grassroots football
Teamwork & Collaboration: Participate in interactive games like chain tag alongside structured team sports such as cricket and dodgeball
Curriculum-Integrated Learning: All sessions are designed around physical literacy principles and Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) learning models
Unlike many providers who focus solely on one sport, our child-centred, multi-sport sessions are inclusive, adaptable, and pressure-free. Parents are welcome to attend a session and even observe before joining in—the environment is friendly and welcoming for all.

What Parents Are Saying
Emily
“Community Sports Foundation provides us with a vital link to other home educating families. Each week, a range of families attend and the children get to engage in really enjoyable physical education sessions led by Coach Rich. The fun and imaginative games—like Granny’s Footsteps, Octopus Tag, Rob the Nest, Frisbee, Dodgeball, NERF sessions, hobby-horse racing, and obstacle courses—are all delivered in an inclusive, kind, and patient manner. It has helped to build resilience and teamwork among the children. I love that my competitive child is learning to lose with grace while my less confident child feels like a winner. The individual praise and the bonds formed with Rich and the other children boost self-esteem and make the group excellent value for money. We even play many of these games at home as a family!”
Bex
“My 9-year-old had a great time. He loved the variety and found the sessions really fun and exciting—who knew horse racing and jousting would feature in a kids’ sports group? Now my 6-year-old feels more confident just by seeing how much fun it is.”
Jo Jo
“Rich is a very warm and welcoming P.E. teacher. He keeps the children engaged while learning, and my kids absolutely love his sessions—they look forward to them every week. I highly recommend these P.E. sessions for any parent wanting to get their children active; they’re fun, inclusive, and educational.”
Julia
“My two children absolutely love their Thursday morning sport session. There’s always so much laughter and fun involved! Thank you for making this accessible to home educators.”
Beth
“My two children have been attending for a while now, and they absolutely love it—apparently, it’s THE BEST GROUP EVER! Rich adapts the exercises and games brilliantly based on the ages present. It’s the perfect blend of sport, confidence-building, and a little bit of science thrown in. It’s affordable for those on a tight budget and appealing for younger children as well.”
