What is discussed in the webinar?

• We will start by thinking about what phonics actually is. For those of you where phonics is entirely new, this will be a bit of an introduction to what it all means!
• We will then move on to looking at how phonics is structured in schools.
• Following on from this, we will work through the different phases of phonics.
• We’ll then take a moment to look at what Tricky and High Frequency Words are.
• We will then explain what the phonics screening check is, when it happens and what it involves.
• Finally, we will be looking at what you can do at home to support your child with their phonics.
